Thank you to all who took part in and supported Stormont Community Choir’s 2026 Summer Concert in St Molua’s Church on Friday evening 12 June.
The choir delighted a highly appreciative audience with a wide selection of pieces ranging from The Beatles’ “When I’m 64” to the hauntingly beautiful “Crossing the Bar”.
It has been a busy season for the Community Choir as Director Audrey Gillian reports:
“At Easter, some choir members joined the St Molua’s church choir to lead worship at both the Good Friday and Easter Day services. The choirs sang an anthem at each service: on Good Friday “Who is this man upon the Cross” and on Easter Day “This Joyful Eastertide.”
Following our Easter break we worked hard to prepare an entertaining programme which we presented at the Presbyterian Women’s Visitors’ Night at Cregagh Presbyterian Church on 6th May. The choir were thrilled to be given a standing ovation; we really did sing for our supper!
We were honoured to be invited again to sing at the Ulster Hospital Memorial Service on 19th May. The choir rose to the challenge of learning two unaccompanied songs, and also led the hymn singing.
We were then delighted to welcome Noel Lamont as our guest viola player at our 2026 Summer Concert. On Saturday 20th June, we are excited to round off our season sharing the stage with Laganvale Band at the Salvation Army Temple on the Cregagh Road. [details in the flyer below]
It has been a very productive and fulfilling fourth year, and I am sure you will agree that choir members deserve a well-earned break over the summer.“
