Data Protection: Churches

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect in the UK on 25th May 2018. It replaced the previous law on data protection (the Data Protection Act 1998) and it gives individuals more rights and protection in how their personal data is used by organisations. Our Parish must comply with its requirements, just like any other charity or organisation. Over the last number of months you will received a data protection consent form enclosed in your copy of Contact magazine.

The returned consent form gives us permission to hold your details on our Parish records.

The form affects:

* Parish magazine list

* Church membership list.

* FWO Envelope list.

It is very important to return the form.

If you do not return the form giving your consent to us to hold your name address, telephone number or email address we are required by law to delete this information this includes the magazine distribution list.

So we will no longer be able to forward a copy of the magazine. Unfortunately this is the law, and we must comply.
