“All must give as they are able, according to the blessings given to them by the LORD your God.” Deuteronomy 16 v 17 (NLT)
The Parish is financed by the contributions of church members. Thank you to everyone who contributes financially to support the ministry and mission of St Molua’s Church.
*IMPORTANT – Please Note*
We’ve heard of scams in other places, where people are calling at homes, saying they are collecting church weekly envelopes. No-one has been authorised to collect weekly envelopes on our behalf.
Ways to Give
Standing Order
Free Will Offering envelopes
Sending a ‘one-off’ donation
Making provision in your Will
Gift Aiding your donation
Standing Order
This is an instruction to your bank to pay a regular set amount to St Molua’s each month. All you need do is complete a standing order form, which can be downloaded from the Forms section of the website (contact us if you prefer us to send you a hard copy) and send it direct to your bank.
Alternatively, most banks also enable you to set up a standing order on-line or via telephone. Please check with your bank for guidance on how to do this. You may find the following links helpful:
During the process, you will be asked for some information including our bank details:
- Account Number: 51024027
- Sort Code: 95-01-28
- Bank Name: Danske Bank, Knock
- Reference: Please use your name, and your free will offering number if you have one e.g. John Smith 123
The bank will then set up the payment in accordance with your instructions.
Not only does giving by standing order save you from having to set aside, or find, cash for your Free Will Offering, it helps to provide St Molua’s with a regular income even if you are unable to attend church. It also reduces administration costs and the need for envelopes.
Remember, you are always in control of the standing order – you can cancel or amend it at any time by contacting your bank (if you do this, it would be appreciated if you could also let us know for our records).
Irrespective of how you make your regular offering, you will receive a statement twice a year confirming your contributions up to the end of September and to the end of December.
Contact the Parish Office or the Free Will Offering Secretary (Sharon Beck), if you have any queries.
Free Will Offering (FWO) envelopes
If you are unable to set up a Standing Order, but would still like to give regularly by a recordable means, weekly free will offering envelopes are available. Please contact the Parish Office or the Free Will Offering Secretary (Sharon Beck) to arrange these.
If you have envelopes, and the church is not open for worship, you may wish to set these aside ready to bring to church as soon as we are able to gather together again. However, please note the warning above about bogus collectors.
Sending a ‘one-off’ donation.
Donations to the church are welcome at any time whether by cash, cheque or electronic means. Electronic payments should be made to the church’s account with Danske Bank (details above). Please ensure that you include some means by which we can identify you, e.g. your name and FWO number if you have one.
Making provision in your Will
You may also like to consider making a donation to St Molua’s Church in your will. Ask your solicitor when you make or amend your will.
Gift Aid
If you are a tax payer then we would encourage you to gift aid any donations, including Free Will Offerings, you make to St Molua’s at no extra cost to yourself. The Gift Aid Scheme enables us to claim back the tax you have already paid on the money from which you are making your donation. This means that every £1 you donate is worth £1.25 to the church.
The scheme is available for both one-off and on-going donations. If you are able to gift aid your donation, standing order or regular Free Will Offering, then please download and complete the appropriate form from the Forms section of the website and pass it to the Parish Office or the Gift Aid Secretary (Sharon Beck). Do not hesitate to ask if you have any queries, require a hard copy posted to you or need help completing the form.
Confidentiality
All financial information is managed by the Parish Treasurer, supported by a small team including the Assistant Treasurer and the FWO/ Gift Aid Secretary. Donations are always treated in confidence. Again, thank you for your faithfulness and generosity.
