As announced in church, our Christmas 2020 Shoebox Appeal through Blythswood Care has recently been launched.
From Blythswood Care: “Despite the difficulties that they face every day, through poverty, illness, disability, or other disadvantages, receiving a shoebox brings such joy to children and adults in Eastern Europe, that their faces light up with huge smiles. You can make such a difference to lives that are otherwise almost hopeless.”
Watch the Blythswood Care Shoe Box Appeal video below and consider filling a shoebox this year to bring some joy to someone in need this Christmas.
If you can, please fill a shoebox and bring to church before the end of October – thank you.
If you are having a problem sourcing an empty shoebox this year then please use a drawstring bag (no plastic ones please) instead. Maximum size 400mm x 300mm. These are available in a number of shops, especially sports shops.

Blythswood Care ask that each shoebox, if possible, have a toothbrush and toothpaste, underwear, soap, sweets, toy/gift, scarf, gloves and a hat in it. They have also suggested the following other ideas to help you fill your box:
