The Diocese of Down and Dromore is delighted that Revd John Coles will be the speaker at our annual Bible Week at the end of August. John is joining us at short notice following the withdrawal of Archbishop Ben Kwashi due to ill–health.
Our theme this year is ‘Forward Together’ and we welcome you to join us in Willowfield Church from Tuesday 30 August – Friday 2 September beginning each evening at 7.45 pm.
We send Archbishop Ben our best wishes for a full recovery.
Bible Week will also be an occasion to celebrate leadership in the diocese with short acts of commissioning on Tuesday (Parish Readers) and Wednesday (Diocesan Readers). On Thursday Bishop David is inviting the clergy of the diocese to reaffirm their ordination vows.
On Friday we hope that choirs and worship teams will make a special effort to come along for ‘Let’s Sing’, an evening of worship and teaching from John.
John is Chair of Trustees for New Wine which he led from 2001–2014. John oversaw the development of New Wine from a summer conference to a network of leaders and churches, and then to a movement with a vision not only for renewal but church planting and social transformation. He continues to be involved in teaching and training church leaders. John and his wife Anne help lead a missional congregation who meet in a home in North London, with a vision to start other similar congregations.
Bible Week will begin each evening at 7.45 pm in Willowfield Church, 149 My Lady’s Road, Belfast, BT6 8FE.
