TV recordings at St Molua’s

At the end of August, if you had popped into St Molua’s Church it may have looked a little bit different…

Christian TV broadcasting company TBNUK were in Northern Ireland to record programmes due for broadcast in the Autumn. It was amazing to see what goes on behind the scenes, and it was a pleasure to be able to accommodate such a lovely group of people. When they left, you wouldn’t even know that they had been in the church!

Thanks to the wonderful acoustics of our building, St Molua’s was the chosen venue to record the musical pieces that will be featured, which included some of Northern Ireland’s most talented local choral singers. You may even recognise a face or two… The programme will also incorporate interviews, and of course, the wonderful scenery of our province.

Presenter Simon Lole was joined by former Dean of Belfast Cathedral, The Very Revd. John Mann, who was delighted to make a trip back to Northern Ireland.

Simon, who was former Choirmaster and organist at Salisbury Cathedral, is well known as a choral director, organist, composer, arranger and broadcaster.

In the series ‘Sacred Harmony’ Simon tells the stories behind famous hymns, and introduces us to some of his favourite church music and musicians. We very much look forward to watching the new series later this year, and we will keep you updated once we have broadcast dates.

TBNUK can be viewed on Freeview channel 66, Sky channel 582, and online at www.tbnuk.org

You can also download an app free via Google Play or Apple (once downloaded, all you have to do is register an email address) where you can view a wonderful mix of Christian programmes, and catch up on past series of ‘Sacred Harmony’.
