Thirty of the parishes and church plants across Down & Dromore are engaging in a variety of mission activities at different points in the two weeks leading up to Diocesan Synod on the 15th June.
In St Molua’s we’ll be partnering with Tullycarnet Church from Monday 5th – Sunday 11th June. Further details to follow!
The diocese will be welcoming SOMA team members from as far away as Uganda, Tanzania, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, USA, India and Nigeria and also team members from across the UK. Please pray for this mission across our diocese.
Faith and prayers are rising for ‘turning tide’, a season of parish missions taking place across the diocese in partnership with SOMA (Sharing of Ministries Abroad). Thirty of our parishes and church plants will engage in a whole variety of mission activities at different points in the two weeks leading up to Diocesan Synod (2–14 June).
Bishop David is calling, not just host parishes and church plants, but the whole diocese to prayer for this season of mission on Sunday 21 May. We want to ask God to move in power and turn the tide on a wave of secularism and apathy.
We’re expecting around 27 international SOMA team members from as far away as Uganda, Tanzania, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, USA, India and Nigeria! They will be joined by 30–35 people from across the UK plus team members from the host parishes.
As well as connecting in with existing programmes and taking part in church services, the teams will be involved with outreach events such as BBQs, family fun days, breakfasts, door to door evangelism, prayer walking and opportunities to pray for healing.
It’s a great privilege to have people from all over the world come to share their faith with us and we know they’ll receive a warm welcome. More importantly, we pray that they will witness God at work in the lives of many people in the churches and communities of our diocese.
Coming soon: resources to help you pray.
