Walking Group

St Molua’s Walking Group, ’Sole Mates’ would like to extend an invitation to everyone to join us for our first outing of 2025. We have a unique opportunity to have a personal guided tour of the beautiful and historic church of St Nicholas in Carrickfergus on Saturday 15th March.

Although we usually have a walking destination, this outing will be suitable for all abilities. Leaving St Molua’s at 9.45am, we will take the Glider to Lanyon Station, then the train to Carrickfergus. From the station there, it is a short walk to the Church and old graveyard.

After our tour of the church, there is the option of a stroll around the town or seafront. There are lots of eateries and coffee shops. We will arrange a return time on the day.

If anyone wishes to travel independently by car, we would plan to meet at St. Nicholas’s at 11.00am.

Our walks are open to all – to church members, friends and relatives and anyone else who would like to join us. However, please note:

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
All walkers take part at their own risk.
All walkers must ensure that they are fit and healthy enough to undertake the walk they are attending.
All walkers are advised to exercise caution and to wear suitable walking shoes/boots and outdoor clothing.
On the walk:

  • A register will be taken at the start of the walk of all participants.
  • Walkers must follow all safety advice given by the walk leader.
