The community choir accepted an invitation to sing at the annual memorial service at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald for staff who had passed away in the last year. This service is usually led by the hospital staff choir but unfortunately, they have not met this year; the bereavement coordinator saw the S.C.C. poster on the church notice board and made contact.
The choir were asked to lead the hymn singing and sing two pieces. We sang Homeward Bound by Marta Keen (not to be confused with the Paul Simon setting) and Bridge Over Troubled Water. In Christ Alone and Be Thou My Vision were the hymns chosen for the service.
It was an honour to be invited to participate in this very moving service which paid tribute to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the hospital. There were around 100 family members and colleagues in attendance.
