Our ‘Sole Mates’ Walking Group have been out on their last scheduled trip for the 2025 season when, on Saturday 18 October, we visited Hillsborough Forest Park & Lake set in the picturesque Georgian village of Royal Hillsborough, County Down .
We were very lucky with the weather which, despite a foreboding forecast, remained mostly dry although cool and breezy at times. Our walk led us around the lake and through the forest of glorious autumn colours where we encountered a range of weird and wonderful large sculptures including Unit of Life, Power Up and Big Foot !
