Did you know, knitting can be astonishingly good for you? This gentle hobby has been found to lower blood pressure, reduce depression, keep your mind alert and slow the onset of dementia. It can distract from chronic pain (such as arthritis), boost wellbeing, and reduce loneliness.
What better reason to join the ‘Knit & Natter – Crochet & Chatter’ group at St Molua’s? We meet at 2.00pm every Wednesday in the Parish Hall. Bring along whatever project you are working on – knitting / crochet / cross stitch / other crafts – share hints and tips – learn new skills – swap patterns have a cuppa & chat – have fun!
Some of us have taken the opportunity to finish off personal projects that had been on the needles for some time! Others set about producing items to help worthy causes. Already we have been able to donate 12 little ‘Trauma Teddies’ for children in need of comfort. A dozen ‘Oxfam Jumpers’ for small children have also been forwarded to a charity in Tanzania, along with further supplies of both bears and jumpers for a locally run charity which supports work in Kenya.
Needless to say, there is plenty of room for more knitters and chatterers. If you are free on a Wednesday from 2-4pm, do think about joining us.
You will be very welcome.
