Walking Group

Do you enjoy walking?
Do you enjoy meeting people?
Would you like to combine the two?

Sole Mates is our parish walking group. We gather together once a month during the spring, summer and autumn for a variety of walks that suit most ages and abilities. Dates and walk destinations are normally published in the parish magazine ‘Contact’, on the weekly Notices sheet and on this web page.

Walks planned for the current 2026 season include:

21 March – Castle Grounds and Museum Bangor
18 April – Killynether Newtownards
16 May – Flood Gates Newtownards
20 June – Greenway at Connswater
18 July – Shore Car Park at Jordanstown
15 August – Antrim Castle Grounds
19 September – Upper Hightown Road Car Park Cave Hill
17 October – Kinnegar Road Car Park Holywood

For all walks we meet in the church carpark at 10.00am unless otherwise arranged.
Our walks are open to all – to church members, friends and relatives and anyone else who would like to join us.
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note that all walkers take part at their own risk.
All walkers must ensure that they are fit and healthy enough to undertake the walk they are attending.
All walkers are advised to exercise caution and to wear suitable walking shoes/boots and outdoor clothing.
On the walk:

• A register will be taken at the start of the walk of all participants.
• Walkers must follow all safety advice given by the walk leader.
